NCAA basketball tournament performance: Jayhawks

Since the 1985 NCAA tournament (the first year of the 64-team field, 26 years ago as of this writing), the Kansas Jayhawks have achieved a mean win percentage of 0.73 (2.41 wins to 0.89 losses, N = 66 games). This equals a Sweet 16 appearance (rounding down, see Table 1). In that period they have won the championship twice, lost their opening game twice, and failed to qualify once, and changed head coach twice.
