NCAA basketball tournament performance: Blue Devils

Since the 1985 NCAA tournament (the first year of the 64-team field, 26 years ago as of this writing), the Duke Blue Devils have achieved a mean win percentage of 0.78 (2.93 wins to 0.81 losses, N = 80 games). This equals an Elite 8 appearance (rounding down, see Table 1). In that period they have won the championship four times, lost their opening game twice, and failed to qualify once, and not changed head coach. See Table 2 for the complete data set.
