NCAA basketball tournament performance: Tar Heels

Since the 1985 NCAA tournament (the first year of the 64-team field, 26 years ago as of this writing), the North Carolina Tar Heels have achieved a mean win percentage of 0.77 (2.63 wins to 0.78 losses, N = 72 games). This equals an Elite 8 appearance (rounding down, see Table 1).
