Smoothie (current incarnation)

I like smoothies. Well, I don’t like the word smoothie (we always called them protein drinks when I was little), but I cede to the popular opinion on this one. Anywho, I have been fine-tuning a particular recipe lately. It’s not especially smooth, so I’m vindicated on that point.

What goes in:

  • 150 CC rolled oats (two-thirds cup)
  • 100 CC wheat germ (almost a half cup)
  • 100 CC peanut butter
  • 100 CC whey powder
  • 3 frozen bananas
  • 3 cups 2% milk

I generally adjust the milk as needed for consistency. This gives me a pretty full blender, so I divide it up into 3 servings and at least one goes in the fridge for later. I could make smaller batches, but I’m not a fan of cleaning the blender.

By my less then precise calculations, this gives me 8g fiber, 36g protein, and 645 calories per serving.
